You're on mute! - Quote of 2020

You're on mute!

The most heard words of 2020. After speaking half of the first sentence of what we wanted to say, we hear someone from the listeners inform us, 'You're on mute'.

This not only breaks the momentum, but also throws the entire feel down the drain.

The more excited you are for what you're going to say, the greater the chances are that you're gonna miss this very simple alert that you're on mute.

Forgetting to turn on the mic before speaking doesn't mean you're inattentive to the fact that you were on mute. It rather means that you are so indulged into what is being discussed and what you're going to contribute that you miss this little detail.

We are not accustomed to clicking the mic before speaking. This is such a novel concept that even spending the whole year doing this hasn't really made us habitual of clicking before speaking.

Don't we all wanna go back to simple in-person meetings and discussions? Don't we all miss being together? Don't we all suddenly appreciate the rare opportunities to visit office/school/college/university?

We do realize that this is a pandemic, the new normal, the 'REALITY' no matter how much we hate it, we will have to live with it!!

Deep down inside we all miss the liberty to go out and do whatever the eff we want. We are sick of these restrictions and fear. The fear of contracting the virus. The fear of losing the loved ones. The frustration of not being able to see each other. The fear of missing out on small celebrations. The fear of losing the source of income. The fear of being an asymptomatic carrier of such deadly virus.

This is too much to register, too much to take care of, too much to manage with our already difficult lives.

This is not a year to ask for anything other than being healthy and sane. This is a year to find contentment in little things. This is a year to appreciate what we have rather than agonizing on what we don't. Appreciate what you have before it becomes what you had.

No matter how much we cry over it, how many times we rant over this, how many pages we write to describe what we feel, or how many words we say on how it is going.

Who is listening anyway?

You're on Mute!!
